This began at least 4 months ago. wget establishes the connection and path. If the module actually exists on that server, it returns the module size, then times out on the PASV command, unable to connect. Multiple sites and modules involved, including gnu, gnome, and lunar. If the module doesn't exist on that server, it returns "done" for the size and then times out on the PASV command. Affects both lunar 1.62 and 1.64, lunar and theedge coretools. While it is timing out, I can cut and paste the same URL into links or firefox and retrieve the module (if it exists on that server). Doesn't seem to matter whether portmapper is running or not. Also, behavior is the same whether using a lan or wireless connection to my broadband router. Used to work OK. I wish you a happy new year, Guillaume ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- perldude - 12-29-08 17:29 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- two things: 1) the server was configured to listen for de.lunar-linux.org (I changed that). 2) there is no ./cache directory (I just mirror the rsync'd stuff). obviously cache/ is not provided by the master. I added the "download.lunar-linux.org" host to the server configuration.
