Few things to note (Yes I saw Terry's email ;^):

1) The AMD64/x86_64 appears to have troubles with the ssh1 algorithm or
keys, consistent crashes on the client side (Don't know aboput the server side
yet.) especially when connecting to a 32bit/i386 machine.

2) run sshd with the -d and -p switches and connect then, see where/when
it crashes.

3) use strace to track before/after syscalls that fails.

4) next get aquinted with gdb :)=)
