As soon as I click 'enable display composition' everything seems to vanish, almost as if xfce crashes completely. Although I can still move my mouse around my grey desktop and the cursor changes as I hover my mouse over my panels and different windows.. Which seems that everything is still there. I've tried restarting xfce when this happens and it loads correctly. I even hear the system beep when the xfce tips load but nothing can be seen. It's almost like everything still loads and is still there but it's just full transparency. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. After reading the code to get an idea what's going wrong, I noticed something strange in xfce_localize_path_internal() (libxfce4util/trunk/libxfce4util/xfce-i18n.c:95). There is a check: if (G_LIKELY (lang != NULL && strchr (lang, '/') != NULL)) I don't understand why lang should contain a '/'. This is why it doesn't work for me. My locale is "de_DE.UTF-8". If I run xfce4-about with LANG=de_DE.UTF-8/ xfce4-about it works because the check for the '/' is TRUE and the localized version is used. But when are '/' are used in locales? What happens to people with larger or smaller font sizes than you have? "Fixing" this would mean calculating the width, in pixels, of each line, based on the current font size, finding the maximum length, then figuring out the width of scroll bars, any widget padding (varies by theme), dialog padding, etc, and *then* setting a minimum size. It's a horrible hack, and would make bringing the dialog up much slower (mainly due to the font metrics calculations). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
